Dear Glendale Families,
Welcome back! We are thrilled that you will be joining us and are excited for a great school year. Here are some details to make your school year worry-free.
School Meals
Student breakfast and lunch are free. Maggie Sanders is our cafeteria manager and can be contacted questions.
Dress Code
No dress code policy this year, but please make sure attire is appropriate for school and change of weather. Please label names in all jackets, water bottles, sweaters, etc.
Sneak a Peek August 5
Sneak a Peek will be Monday, August 5 from 3:00 p.m. 5:00 p.m. Class rosters will be posted on the front windows at 2:30 p.m. and doors open at 3:00 p.m.
First Day of School: August 6
- Tuesday, August 6th is the first day of school for all students. Doors will open at 7:40 a.m.
- The Boo-Hoo breakfast for kindergarten parents will be at 8:00 a.m. August 6th in the library.
- August 6 and 7 are half-days for PK and K with a dismissal time of 11:00 a.m. for PK and 11:30 a.m. for kindergarten.
School Supplies
School supply lists are posted on Glendale Students page.
Drop Off and Dismissal
Students may be dropped off at 7:40 a.m. and dismissal will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon. We expect the car rider line to be long for the first several weeks. Please be patient as we deliver students to and from their cars.
Make sure your child knows how to get home each day and have your child’s name visible on your car’s visor so staff can quickly retrieve your child.
Bus Information
The bus will be available for students beginning the first day of school for students living in the bus route area. You can find your bus information on the Metro Schools transportation page section.
Forms and Important Information
Important information and forms to be returned to school will come home with students the first day of school. Please address these items as soon as possible.
Walking Students to Class
Parents may walk children to class the first week of school. Beginning August 12th, parents may park and drop children off at the front door of the school.
Lunch with Students
Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their children at the picnic tables in the front of the school. Please check in with the office at your child’s lunch time and we will send the child to join.
Volunteering
Contact your child’s teacher for volunteer opportunities. All volunteers must be pre-scheduled and check in at the front office.
School Hours
School begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. Please make sure your child is on time to school. If your child is tardy, you must sign the student in to the building. Early dismissal between 2:30-3:00 is not permitted unless there is an emergency.

Friday, August 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. (back of school)
Open House August 15
6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 15 (gym); 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (classrooms)
